Troy Brown: 2012/2013 Biography & Statistics

Troy is a quick, tough-tackling centre back, who can also play at right back and began his career as a scholar at Fulham (although he was never offered a full pro contract).

Despite being English-born, he got his first taste of international football with Wales in April 2006, when a connection on his mother's side saw him play for the Under-17s against the USA; he later gained caps at both Under-19 and Under-21 levels.

Troy trialled at Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town just prior to the end of the 2008-09 season and was provisionally offered a deal by the latter club. Unfortunately, though, the Suffolk club sacked manager Jim Magilton before a contract could be signed, but hi determination (on his release by Fulham) saw him return to Portman Road and impress boss Roy Keane enough to become the Irishman's first signing.

Troy performed solidly in Ipswich's reserves throughout 2009-10 for which he was rewarded by making his senior debut as a second half substitute against Sheffield United on the final day of the Championship campaign. His first start for the Tractor Boys came in the first round of the League Cup against Exeter City in August 2010 and he finished the season having played a further 15 games.

At the end of the 2010-11 season, Troy turned down the offer of a new deal at Portman Road, deciding instead to drop down two divisions to join Rotherham United. He made his debut against Oxford United on the opening day of 2011-12 and scored his first-ever goal against Barnet two weeks later.

Unfortunately, he wasn't a regular for the Millers and so, having made just half-a-dozen appearances, was loaned to Aldershot Town early in the January 2012 transfer window. Troy improved game-on-game during his time at the EBB Stadium and, following his release by Rotherham in the summer of 2012, made a permanent return to North East Hampshire.

Troy played for Wales Under-21s against Armenia in a UEFA European Under-21 Championships qualifier against Armenia in mid-August 2012 and, three days later, scored the first goal of the 2012-13 League 2 season when heading in after just five minutes of the opener at Plymouth Argyle.

Career Stats:
