Hampshire Youth and Parallel Games

Aldershot Town Football in the Community supporting local youth games

Every year Aldershot Town's Football in the Community scheme works with hundreds of juniors and adults at the Hampshire Youth and Parallel Games, assisting with the running of the football and multi-sport activities.

This year was no exception and juniors from schools and day centres from Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Basingstoke and Rushmoor competed in an Olympic-themed event, winning gold, silver and bronze medals.

Kirk Wheeler, FITC's Community Officer said of the day, "Despite the variety of weather encountered during the activities- high winds, hail stones and then bright sunshine- the boys and girls had a great time undertaking all the activities. The boys' and girls' enthusiasm, whilst taking on the challenges and their committment to one another in the team activities was a joy to behold. A great day and one which all of our coaches and volunteer helpers thoroughly enjoyed working on."
