Quiz Night for Playershare Fund

The first quiz night of the season was held on 16th August, but due to the summer holidays our numbers were vastly reduced. Nevertheless we raised around £100.

That evening we did have an additional subject of interest for all those attending. Gail Whattingham, one of our regular quiz members, brought in her Olympic Torch for all to see and have photographs taken.

Gail was originally nominated by her son Elliott for all the Charity work she undertakes and has been doing so for over twenty-five years. Since that time she has raised a little over one million pounds and continues to do so.

Gail lives in Farnham, Surrey, and is recognised for her home Christmas illuminations, which consists of 80,000 coloured bulbs which is quite a yearly spectacular.

She carried the Olympic Torch through the area of Easebourne near Midhurst, Sussex.

Congratulations to Gail.

Our next quiz night is Thursday 20th September commencing around 7.45pm and will be open to all to attend. You will find the evening to have a very friendly atmosphere and we welcome new teams or if you want to come by yourself there is always a team for you to join. A £2.00 donation is all that is required for you to participate. All the questions cover a wide range of subjects.

We also have our 50p instant raffle and the bar will be open.

As usual all monies raised will go to the Playershare Fund so please come along and give it a try.
