FA Youth Cup Victory

Young Shots cruise to victory in Didcot

Didcot Town 0-6 Aldershot Town

Tommy Anderson reporting

Aldershot Town got their FA Youth Cup campaign off to a great start as they booked their place into the next round after they managed to see off Didcot Town, scoring six goals in the process.
The first half was dominated by the away side and the score-line reflected this as the Shots went into the half-time break four goals clear of the home side who struggled to get any kind of foothold into the game as they were getting outplayed and outclassed by the more determined side.

The second half was just as comfortable as the first half with the Shots adding two more goals to their tally ending the night with a morale-boosting win and the chance to shine and give the other teams in the competition something to think about.
Manager Terry Boyle said his team’s “performance was good hand they got the job done” but needed to show more respect to their opponents despite winning the game by an outstanding six goal cushion. “We were far too complacent at times for my liking, if we play like that against some of the more talented teams we ished, so there is still room for improvement but it was a good result and we managed to get the job done.”
