Aldershot Town 3-1 Rotherham United - Match Reaction

Shots Through To FA Cup Fourth Round

Aldershot Town made it through to the FA Cup fourth round with a 3-1 win against Rotherham United. Boss Dean Holdsworth reflected on a dominant Shots performance, saying, "Its not just about the performance, it’s the way we went about our business today. The preparation was vital for us, I took the lads in the hotel last night and we got prepared. I did a presentation to them, we had the chance to do that and it was vital for them”.

The Shots will find out who they will face in the fourth round in tomorrow’s draw, which takes place at 3:30pm. Shots captain, and Tottenham fan, Ben Herd, allowed himself to think of a tie against Spurs, saying, “It would be a dream come true. Although my old man and my brother are season ticket holders so probably wouldn’t support me! Loyalties would definitely be divided in the Herd household. The odds are against it, but if it did happen it would be unbelievable; the stuff dreams are made of.”

Rotherham manager Steve Evans cursed missed chances, including Daniel Nardiello’s second minute headed miss. Evans said, “He should score, put us in front and it’s a different cup tie. But, he didn’t and we’re taking nothing away from Aldershot and we wish them every success and good luck in the draw tomorrow.”
